Waterfalls and Full Height Backsplashes

Using countertop material elsewhere.

Waterfall Edges

Utilizing the same countertop material used for you islands, you can have your fabricator miter (45 degree joint along its length) the edge of the counter, and go vertically to the ground.

This is a stunning look that adds height to the countertop material, allowing you to show off the color/veining from across the room.

Costs: expect same cost per square foot, with the added costs for labor and the miter joint (which can be several hundred dollars per miter).

Full Height Backsplashes

Choosing to omit the traditonal tile backsplash can be a daunting decision, but dont fear its a choice you will love. In addition to an amazing look, you wil have the added benefit of easier clean up due to no grout joints. A win-win in my book.

Costs: same price per square foot as counter tops, expect a small upcharge for the labor of cutting out outlets, and installing vertically.
